Our first home derby of the season ended in favor of Fenerbahçe Opet after five thrilling sets.
The first set was going narrow until the team took the lead by 12-9 at the technical timeout. With captain Tijana Boskovic scoring 5 points in this set, Tigers managed to win by 25-19.
Fenerbahçe Opet came back stronger in the second set, leading 12-10 at the technical timeout. Yet the block performance of Beyza Arıcı and Hande Baladın gave us a great advantage to turn the set into our favor. Also, Yasemin Güveli’s serving streak let us hold on for the second set which was then finished by setter Elif Şahin with a clever tip by 27-25.
Having made a quick start after a 2-0 loss, Fenerbahçe Opet won two consecutive sets and evened the game. Although Tigers were leading the tie-break when they switched courts, Fenerbahçe Opet won the set by 16-14.
Tijana Boskovic was the best scorer of the game by 27 points.
Before the game a special video was screened for the Oranges and Whites. The video which has been made with the help of their families motivated the Eczacıbaşı VitrA players during this match schedule without spectators.

Marco Motta: "First of all, I would like to congratulate Fenerbahçe Opet for their performance. They fought well and managed most of the difficult situations better than we did. Today our attack percentage was low. Only two players could make a solid contribution in attack. In general, we should have done less mistakes."
Simge Aköz: “I think it was a very enjoyable match for the fans. And for us it was an important derby. Today we have seen that each player from our bench is ready to contribute to the team. I think we have played a good game as a team. For our next matches we need to reduce the number of our simple mistakes. I would like thank everyone for all their efforts.”
