Reaching thousands of young girls since its foundation and having become a worldwide known powerhouse in volleyball through its history full of achievements, Eczacıbaşı Sports Club will compete in the Second League in the coming season with a newly built team composing of Eczacıbaşı Academy’s young athletes.
Eczacıbaşı Volleyball Team’s Second League campaign starts on October 11 as their first match in Group I will be against Küçükyalı Yelken.
Manager of Eczacıbaşı Academy, Asuman Baş, says that their main goal is to raise young players into professional athletes by letting them gain more experience to reach the Senior Team level. Baş adds, “Through this team we have built, we aim at narrowing the fundamental gap as well as the difference in experience level between our athletes and other athletes who are older than them. During the season, our Academy players will compete in the Second League and also play in their Youth and Junior Teams. We believe that this project will bring us good results.”
Also sharing his thoughts about the project, İsmail Şahin, Technical Coordinator of Eczacıbaşı Academy, says, “Due to the pandemic, we had to start our preparations with our athletes a bit later. However, we have observed that the athletes could quickly orientate themselves and start gaining power. When the athletes who are currently playing for the National Team also join us, we will increase the intensity of our team practices. We believe that this Second League project will technically improve our athletes and make an important contribution to our Club as well. I would like to wish all participating teams a healthy and successful season.”
