The team has claimed a 3-2 victory over Fenerbahçe Opet thus securing their leading spot in Pool A with 5 wins in 5 games.
A balanced flow at the beginning of the game was ruined by Tijana Boskovic as she took the lead with 9 points in the first set and carried the team to a 1-0 leadance by 25-22.
Fenerbahçe Opet came out strong in the second set (25-16) and tied the game by 1-1. However, the team resisted well in the third set with Natalia Pereira and Hande Baladın bringing in some classy points. Also, by the end of that set the ‘unstoppable’ Tijana Boskovic has reached 23 points.
Despite showing good resistance in the fourth set, the team could not bring their good defensive performance to an end. So the Turkish derby proceeded to a highly anticipated decider set – just like the other two games that we played with Fenerbahçe Opet this season.
In the final set, Hande Baladın started the fire with a nice back row attack. With Tijana bringing in the finishing touches, the team has won the set by 15-10. With today’s result we claimed a great advantage in our Champions League journey as we continue with 5 wins in 5 games and secure our spot in Pool A.
Today’s best scorer was Tijana Boskovic with 35 points. She has also been selected as the Most Valuable Player of the game.
