How would a professional volleyball player spend the day productively these days without playing volleyball? The new chapter of the “Pass the Time” series features Ergül Eroğlu sharing her life in the Covid-19 world.
Joining the “Pass The Time” campaign initially started by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) in order to entertain volleyball fans during this period they all spend at home, we decided to ask Eczacıbaşı VitrA ladies what their daily routines are, what kind of exercises they regularly practice and how they cope up with the current situation whilst at home.

“As soon as I wake up I spend some fun time with my dogs and then I start to do my home workout. After the workout I cook. Sometimes I read a book. I have had a growing interest in needlecraft lately. For instance, I have been knitting dots on all my clothes. I have been watching series a lot. That is how the time passes by… Spending time at home like that is something I enjoy a lot, so I have missed that.
I have a variety of workout programmes and I do all of them. Staying in good shape through different exercises every day! Surely, home workouts cannot be compared to the regular training schedule during the season. Yet I try to push my limits as much as I can to have no difficulty when we are back in track. I want to be in a shape that I can play a match anytime. As I have adjusted myself to that mentality, the home workout period has become more intense and fun to me.
My newest hobby has been needlecraft. It is really hard. In the old times our mothers and aunts used to do that. I realized once again how I respect the old people who are knitting it. It is a fun activity, I would suggest everyone to give it a try.
My biggest message to our followers is please stay home and do not go out if not necessary. We can find fun home activities. To protect our own health, let’s not stay inactive at home. This period is a good opportunity to discover ourselves. We can discover what we are talented for by giving it a try. Also we should care about our nutrition. It is important to keep our immune system strong, so we should prefer things that would keep it strong.”
