How would a professional volleyball player spend the day productively these days without playing volleyball? The tenth chapter of our “Pass the Time” series features Sonja Newcombe sharing her life in the Covid-19 world from the USA.
Joining the “Pass The Time” campaign initially started by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) in order to entertain volleyball fans during this period they all spend at home, we have asked Eczacıbaşı VitrA ladies what their daily routines are, what kind of exercises they regularly practice and how they cope up with the current situation whilst at home.

“In the morning, I join my family in enjoying a slow cup of coffee. I also try to make some time for journaling and a devotional. Then I do my workout for the day. The afternoon is for watching TV, reading, knitting, playing cards with my husband or catching up with friends. After a home cooked dinner and tea time I make sure to get a good nights sleep!
I have been doing daily exercises with bands and light weights, yoga/stretching and some hill sprints for my conditioning. Routine is really important for me and keeps me from feeling sluggish or lazy. As an athlete we tend to have a scheduled day so keeping that routine keeps me going.
My advice to our followers is that they make sure to get some fresh air and activity every day to keep their mind active and refresh their body. I always feel better after I get moving.”
