After a long time without any official match, the team is ready to begin their 2020-21 campaign at AXA Sigorta Kupa Voley’s group stage.
Competing in Group B of the AXA Sigorta Kupa Voley, also known as the Turkish Cup, the team has finished their preparations in İstanbul and headed to Bursa for the group stage. At the tournament which will be held between Sep. 4 and 6, the team will face Kuzeyboru which has advanced to the Sultans League this season, and also with Karayolları and Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyespor, consecutively.

Wishing all teams and everyone involved in volleyball leagues good luck and a healthy season, Coach Marco Motta says, “After some friendly matches that we have played lately, we are about to begin the season at the Turkish Cup group stage in Bursa. This group stage will be the first official tournament of the season where we will get the chance to see our performance. We played some satisfying friendly games with our youthful roster. We know that we have a long way to go while our players will improve themselves during the league.”
Captain Simge Aköz mentions the positive spirit that her team has since the beginning of the season and adds, “We have been preparing for the season with the help of an intense training programme and some friendly matches. During that period we had the chance to get to know each other better. I see us as a young, dynamic and powerful team. We will make a quick start into the season at the Kupa Voley group stage.
Second captain of the team Tijana Boskovic shares her excitement for the coming season and adds, “After five months without any games, it will be exciting to start the season. The Turkish Cup games are very important for us. In the past few months we had a lot of time to train and all this time we tried to get better. That’s why I believe that we will show a good performance at the tournament.”
Our first match at the organization will be against Kuzeyboru on Friday, Sep. 4, at 16.30. The game will be played behind closed doors. Friday’s game will be broadcast live on TRT Spor 2.
