The team had a 3-0 defeat over PTT in Ankara, claiming three points in Week 21 of the Turkish League
Young outside hittter Saliha Şahin and Jordan Thompson who played as opposite player today led the team in the first set. After the technical timeout (12-8), with the help of Simge Aköz’s defensive efforts the team came out stronger and took the first set by 26-24.
Taking the lead until the technical timeout in the second set (12-7), the team resisted well against a more powerful PTT and won the set by 25-23. Once again, Saliha Şahin showed a remarkable performance by scoring 8 points in this set.
With Jordan Thompson finishing the mega rally in the beginning of the third set, the team has elevated their performance even more and won the third set by 25-15.
Having played her second match this week, Saliha Şahin who was infected by the coronavirus and got fully recovered not so long ago, did a great job for her team by scoring 18 points today. While Jordan Thompson scored 13 points today, Hande Baladın brought in 12 points.
Back in the Turkish League after being fully recovered from coronavirus, we will continue our preparations for the CEV Champions League Pool D tournament in Istanbul which we will host between 8 and 10 December.

Saliha Şahin: “The Nilüfer match this week was our first match after we had to pause because of the coronavirus cases in the team. I think today we did a better job both mentally and physically. Now we will continue working for the Champions League ahead.”
Yasemin Güveli: “I think today we got closer to our true performance after we came back on court this week. We are happy that we claimed victory in an away match. Now we are fully focused on the Champions League ahead.”
