Eczacıbaşı VitrA claims advantage at Game 1

Defeating Galatasaray HDI Sigorta 3-0 in the first game of the semi finals, Eczacıbaşı VitrA claims advantage for the next match.

Having started strongly in the away court, Eczacıbaşı VitrA led 12-11 in the first set’s technical time out. In addition to the well-balanced team performance, individual performances of Eczacıbaşı VitrA players were also remarkable today. With captain Jordan Larson’s block powering the team, setter Ezgi Dilik finished the set with a clever tip (25-17).

Despite home team Galatasaray’s quick start in the second set, Eczacıbaşı VitrA managed to lead by 25-18. Lauren Gibbemeyer and Meliha İsmailoğlu, who were substituted in this set, and Ezgi Dilik, who scored 4 points had an important share in second set’s win.

Captain Jordan Larson did a great job today not only in attack but also in block and defense. She scored a total of 17 points. With Middle blocker Büşra Kılıçlı and Yeon Koung Kim’s balanced performance in all sets, Eczacıbaşı VitrA claimed victory in three sets and also advantage for the next match.

Game 2 of the semi final round will be played this Saturday, April 13, at 2 pm in Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall. The game will be broadcast live on TRT Spor. In case of a win, the team will proceed to the Finals.
