Eczacıbaşı VitrA completes regular season as the leader

Defeating Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyespor 3-0, Eczacıbaşı VitrA completes 2018-19 Vestel Venus Sultans League’s regular season as the leader with 64.3 points and claims the right to compete at the CEV Champions League next season.

Having been welcomed by a lot of spectators in Aydın, the team led 12-7 at the first technical time out of the match with the help of Yeon Koung Kim’s powerful attacks. Eczacıbaşı VitrA did a great job in the defense and finished the set by 25-16.

Setter Ezgi Dilik’s serves started the second set, as the team led 12-6 at the technical time out. Having resisted well against home team Aydın’s serves, Eczacıbaşı VitrA took control over the game (16-25) with middle blocker Büşra Kılıçlı showing a great performance in attack.

Despite Aydın’s leadance in the final set, Eczacıbaşı VitrA managed to come back strong (13-25) and claim the last victory of the regular season, winning three points.

Both teams held a “International Women’s Day” banner before the match, where Eczacıbaşı VitrA banner also had “We believe in the power of women and support them wholeheartedly” written on it. The team celebrated its successful finish of the regular season with fans from Aydın area.
