Having started with Yeon Koung Kim’s serve streak, Eczacıbaşı VitrA led the game 12-7 at the technical time out. Lauren Gibbemeyer’s strong performance in the first set with a contribution of 6 points was important in winning the first set (25-19).
Despite guest team Beşiktaş’s efforts to tie game at the beginning of second set, our team responded well with good defense and serves. With the help of Meliha İsmailoğlu’s strong performance in attack, we won second set by 25-16. Kim and Tijana Boskovic’s unstoppable attacks were also remarkable in the final set, which ended by 25-19 in favor of our team.
Thanks to the Hope Foundation for Children With Cancer’s (KAÇUV) cooperation with our club, both teams held a “#kanserifarket” banner to raise awareness for childhood cancer before the match.
