Eczacıbaşı VitrA defeated the Ankara team Karayolları 3-0 in the seventh week of the Turkish League, winning the last game before departing to China for the 2018 FIVB Club World Championship.
Eczacıbaşı VitrA displayed a powerful performance at the beginning of the game, as Gözde Yılmaz and Yeon Koung Kim carried the team in attack. Although Karayolları managed to balance the game after Lauren Gibbemeyer’s block, Eczacıbaşı VitrA won the first set 25-23. As the 2nd set continued point-by-point, Eczacıbaşı VitrA took control over the game after the technical time out and won 25-17. The third set started balanced, yet Eczacıbaşı VitrA broked the ice with the help of Gözde’s attacks and won 25-23 Through this win, the team has claimed three points for the 7th time in the Vestel Venus Sultans League.
Gözde has become the best scorer of the game with 16 points, followed by Kim, who had an important share in today’s win with a total of 15 points.
