Eczacıbaşı VitrA lost 3-0 in Game 5 of the Turkish League Finals, finishing the 2018-19 season in the second place.
The game has started balanced until guest team VakıfBank pushed us with their serves. Captain Jordan Larson and libero Simge Aköz supported the team well in reception, helping also Tijana Boskovic, who was one of the greatest weapons of yesterday, to excel in attack. Yet her classy spikes were not enought to tie the set, which resulted in favor of VakıfBank (25-17).
VakıfBank didn’t ease down in the second set and won by 25-18.
The third set opened with good rallies, which would vitalize the team for a comeback. Unfortunately, captain’s efforts were not enough to tie the set, which ended by 21-25.
While Tijana Boskovic has been awarded the “Best Spiker” award in the ceremony, young middle blocker Merve Atlıer has received the league’s main sponsor Vestel Venus’ Special Award.
