Eczacıbaşı VitrA goes to China

Competing in the FIVB Club World Championship for the fourth time, Eczacıbaşı VitrA Women’s Volleyball Team will depart for Shaoxing, China today.

Eczacıbaşı VitrA has become the back-to-back champions of 2015 and 2016, winning the final game 3-1 against Dinamo Krasnodar in Zurich and 3-2 against Pomi Casalmaggiore in Manila, Philippines, consecutively.

Mentioning that top level clubs participate in the tournament, our Team Manager Nalan Ural shares the following about the championship:

“We will compete in the FIVB Club World Championship, which is regarded as the most prestigious tournament in club volleyball, for the fourth time. We have become the back-to-back champions in earlier editions. And once again, we want to come back home with the trophy. We have a tight schedule of practices and games, and work therefore ceaselessly. I wish good luck to all the other participants.”

Other competitors in the tournament, which will be held in Shaoxing, China from December 4-9, are VakıfBank (TUR), Zheijang (China), Minas Tenis Clube and Praia Clube (BRA), Volero Le Cannet, Altay Volleyball (KAZ) and Supreme Chonburi (THA).

In the semifinals, which will be played on December 8, the team ranked first in Pool A after the Preliminary Round will play against the team ranked second in Pool B. The team ranked first in Pool B after the Preliminary Round will play against the team ranked second in Pool A.
