Defeating Uralochka-NTMK Ekaterinburg 3-2 in our fifth game at 2019 CEV Champions League, Eczacıbaşı VitrA secure leading position in Pool B and the quarter final spot.
In front of a huge crowd of Ekaterinburg fans, Eczacıbaşı VitrA has made a good to the game and quickly responded Russian team’s attacks quickly. Leading 13-10 before the home team Uralochka-NTMK Ekaterinburg’s time-out request, Eczacıbaşı VitrA was powered by Yeon Koung Kim and Tijana Boskovic’s attacks in the later parts of the set. Our team won the first set 25-19.
The Oranges and Whites didn’t lose control at the beginning of the second set and managed to lead the game 2-0 with our middle blockers Büşra and Lauren doing a great job over the net (25-22).
Having lost third (25-19) and fourth sets (25-22), Eczacıbaşı VitrA came back strong in the final set as captain Jordan Larson carried the team greatly with her serves and digs.
Young star Tijana has become the best scorer of the game today with 27 points. She has also been awarded as the MVP of the game.
Next Tuesday (February 26) Eczacıbaşı VitrA will host Dinamo Kazan in the final game of Pool B at 5 pm in İstanbul Burhan Felek Volleyball Hall.
