Defeating the Thailand team Supreme Chonburi 3-0 in the second game of the 2018 FIVB Women’s Club World Championship, Eczacıbaşı VitrA secure semi-final spot before playing the last game in Pool B.
As both teams started the first set point-by-point, Eczacıbaşı VitrA managed to take control of the game with the help of Tijana Boskovic and Yeon Koung Kim’s powerful attacks (25-15). Our team started the second set strong as Büşra Kılıçlı and Lauren Gibbemeyer’s contribution were important in carrying the game to 2-0 for the Oranges and Whites. In the third set, our team did not let the opponent balance the game and claimed the second victory in the 2018 FIVB Women’s Club World Championship’s Pool B.
As our team earned the second victory in the championship today, our Serbian star Tijana Boskovic steered her team with 15 points. Eczacıbaşı VitrA’s strong performance in block (8 points) was one of the key factors of today’s win.
Scoring a total of 14 points, our Korean Star Yeon Koung Kim has been awarded as the MVP of the game.
