Claiming the second victory (3-1) against Galatasaray HDI Sigorta this week, Eczacıbaşı VitrA secures its spot in the Vestel Venus Sultans League Finals.
The second match against Galatasaray started very balanced. Eczacıbaşı VitrA managed to come out stronger, doing less mistakes than the opponent (25-19).
Yet Galatasaray wasn’t late to respond the team’s strong performance in the first set. Despite Yeon Koung Kim’s clever attacks and libero Simge Aköz’s digs, Galatasaray tied the game in the second set (22-25).
Leading 12-9 at the third set’s technical time-out, Eczacıbaşı VitrA had total control over the game with the help of middle blocker Büşra Kılıçlı’s quick attacks. Tijana Boskovic had an important share (8 pts) in third set’s win (25-17).
Eczacıbaşı VitrA displayed a well-balanced team performance in the final set (25-19). With today’s win, Eczacıbaşı VitrA finished the semi final series by 2-0 and proceeded to the league’s Finals for the second year in a row.
The second finalist will be decided after the semi final match-up between VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe Opet is done. The Finals will be played as best-of-five series. The team which wins three games will become the 2018-19 Turkish League champions.
