In the last season Eczacıbaşı VitrA has brought the 2018 CEV Cup trophy home and thus, reached the fifth ever international victory in the club history. The documentary movie about Eczacıbaşı VitrA’s 2018 CEV Cup Championship follows a long journey that ends with a trophy, while displaying some “unrevealed moments” that you have never seen before.
Having won the CEV Cup, formerly known as CEV Cup Winners’ Cup, in 1999, Eczacıbaşı VitrA started the journey with a clear goal in mind. In the 16th Finals, our team won both games against the Belgian side VC Oudegem by 3-0. After having faced the Italian side Yamamay e-work Busto Arsizio in the 8th Finals, our team has qualified to play the quarter final games against the Russian side Yenisei Krasnoyarsk. Having lost only a single set in both games, our team succeeded to advance to the semi-final to face the German side SSC Palmberg Schwerin. After Eczacıbaşı has won both games by 3-0, the goal that was set at the beginning of the journey was not that far away anymore. Having won the first game of the CEV Cup finals against the Belarusian team Minchanka Minsk, Eczacıbaşı VitrA were very motivated to raise the trophy at home and enjoy that spectacular atmosphere with their own fans. The goal that was set at the beginning of came true: Eczacıbaşı has become the 2018 CEV Cup Champions.
