Having arrived in Japan 6 days ago for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship, our National Team will play the first game tomorrow against Canada.
Our National Team, in which Eczacıbaşı VitrA players Meliha İsmailoğlu, Simge Aköz and Beyza Arıcı play a very important role, will compete in Pool B against Canada, China, Bulgaria, Italy and Cuba. Teams succeeding to finish the first round competitions , which will take place in different cities in Japan, in the first four places will advance to the second round.
The Turkish National Team will play the first game of Pool B against Canada at 10.10 am (in Turkish local time) on Saturday, 29 September.
While our captain Jordan Larson and our middle blocker Lauren Gibbemeyer will play for Team USA in Pool C, where our spiker Yeon Koung Kim will also compete with the Korean National Team; our Serbian star Tijana Boskovic will play in Pool D.
We wish good luck to our National Team and other Eczacıbaşı VitrA players, who will compete at this tournament with their own National Teams.
