Tigers had a 3-2 victory over Aydın B.Ş.B. in the 24th match week.
Although Aydın showed good efforts in the first set, Tigers managed to grab the first set with the help of Tijana Boskovic and Beyza Arıcı who scored 10 and 4 points, respectively. The thrilling first set finished 27-25 in our favor with our co-captain, Tijana Boskovic doing the finish touch.
In the second set, Hande Baladın emerged strong. Yet even her efforts were not enough to stop Aydın’s streak. Leading 12-8 before the technical timeout, Aydın tied the match with a 25-19 win of the second set.
Captain Simge Aköz’s defensive efforts fueled the team as Tigers came back stronger in the third set. With Tijana Boskovic bringing in 8 points and Hande Baladın attacking strong in the final parts of the set, the team took the set by 25-21.
The fourth set went narrow until the end. However, Aydın managed to extend the match to the tie-break with a 27-25 win of the fourth set.
In the fifth set, Eczacıbaşı VitrA outside hitter Saliha Şahin carried her team well until the side switch (8-7). Tijana Boskovic finished the match with a nice attack (15-10).
The best scorer of the team was Tijana Boskovic who exploded for an amazing total of 37 points today. Meryem Boz scored the same total for Aydın.
Tigers will play two postponement matches against Ilbank and Beşiktaş this week before the new year’s break.
