In the last game of 2019 CEV Champions League’s group stage, Eczacıbaşı VitrA defeat the Russian guest Dinamo Kazan in straight sets and proceed to the quarter finals as the leader of Pool B.
Having started the game with a clever attack by Yeon Koung Kim, Eczacıbaşı VitrA managed to took control of the game over the net with captain Jordan Larson’s block being the opener. Despite Dinamo Kazan’s rising performance in block and Nr. 5 Alexandra Pasynkova’s strong serves in the final parts of the first set, Eczacıbaşı VitrA led by 25-21.
Eczacıbaşı VitrA continued the strong performance in block with the help of middle blockers Büşra Kılıçlı and Lauren Gibbemeyer. Eczacıbaşı VitrA won the set by 25-18, also scoring 5 aces in total.
Despite Dinamo Kazan’s good start in the final set, Eczacıbaşı VitrA led the game with the help of Tijana Boskovic’s attacks. Also middle blocker Natasa Krsmanovic scored her first point in orange and white jersey.
“I am happy that we won in straight sets. It was important for the next round. We have completed Pool B as the leader and will now wait for the next game in Champions League” said Tijana Boskovic, who was the best scorer of the game today with 20 points.
