The team had a 3-0 victory over Çan in the 22nd match week of the Turkish League.
Having played three matches this week within the Champions League Pool D 1st Round tournament, the team went on with their Turkish League campaign today from we left.
Simge Akoz’s defensive performance was remarkable in the first set. With Tijana Boskovic carrying her team by 8 points, the team won the first set 25-22. Outside hitter Hande Baladın scored 6 points, including 2 powerful aces. Middle blocker Beyza Arıcı brought in two blocks.
Yasemin Güveli emerged strong in the second set. Staying focused after leading 16-10, the team showed a balanced performance with Tijana Boskovic, Hande Baladın and Yasemin Güveli scoring 4 points each. The second set finished in our favor 25-20 by a nice block from Hande Baladın.
With Fatma Yıldırım’s contribution after she was substituted in the second set, the team resisted well against a more powerful Çan and finished the set 25-20.
Today’s best scorer was Tijana Boskovic by 18 points.
In the 23rd match week, we will play against Karayolları in Ankara next Wednesday, Dec. 17.

Marco Motta: “We haven’t started the game well. However we found a way to come back in the second and third sets especially in block. I believe we can perform much better in the upcoming games.”
