Eczacıbaşı VitrA Head Coach Marco Aurelio Motta gave an interview before the team’s first semi final match in the Vestel Venus Sultanlar League Playoffs.
As the Playoffs semi final round is edging closer, Head Coach Marco Motta gave an interview to the Turkish news agency, İHA Broadcast Services:
“Playoffs are a different stage of the season. Semi final round against Galatasaray is ahead. We are now fully focused on the semi finals. Surely it will be a tough round. We are aware that we prepare for a hard semi final match. We played Galatasaray three times this season. We won by 3-2 twice and 3-1 once. Although we play against a familiar opponent, we should focus on the next match everytime without looking back.”
Mentioning the Champions League, Motta said, “We faced a strong opponent like Imoco Volley Conegliano at the CEV Champions League. We won the first match in straight sets. In the second match, we played a golden set after we lost 3-1. We couldn’t show our highest performance at that moment. Also our opponent has played very strongly. That team has 6 finalists in their roster.”
Marco also addressed that he is eager to see the team in the league finals:
“We’ll work a lot to see us playing the finals. We have full confidence about it because we are a very good team. We show that through the level and capacity of our game. And we want to see the result of our hard work by playing the finals. All we have to do is to play.”
Having been asked about the next season, Marco said, “We play each competition to win. Regarding this, next season won’t be any different than this season. We’ve started the season with the Super Cup, which was followed by the Turkish Cup victory. We have very strong opponents. It will never be easy for us but we’ll always struggle to win.”
