The team defeated Karayolları in straight sets today returning back home with our third consecutive Turkish League win in pockets.
Throughout the whole match Eczacıbaşı VitrA ladies displayed a consistent performance in block (13 pts). Surely it was also a result of their powerful and consecutive serves through which we scored 8 aces today.
In the first set, Tigers did a great job in playing as a team and led the set by 25-14. The experienced spiker of Eczacıbaşı VitrA Natalia Zilio Pereira scored a total of 6 points in attack continuing this performance by a lot of clever actions throughout the whole match. In the first set, Beyza Arıcı made an important contribution to her team by staying very focused in block (3 pts).
Despite the home team’s efforts to resist against our attacks, the team managed to lead the second set by 25-20 with setter Carli Lloyd building a great balance between the attackers. Adding to Natalia’s attack performance, Tijana Boskovic carried her team well not only in attacking but also in blocking and serving.
With the young and talented players Yasemin Güveli and Saliha Şahin being in the starting six in the final set, the team kept control over the set (25-8) and accomplished their mission successfully in Ankara.
Next Saturday, October 26, we will play against Beşiktaş at 4 pm in our home court. There will be live broadcast on TRT Spor 2.
