Motta to be our Head Coach for the next two years

Eczacıbaşı VitrA Women’s Volleyball Team will work with our experienced Head Coach Marco Aurelio Motta for another two years.

Having been the Eczacıbaşı VitrA Head Coach between 2004 and 2007, Motta rejoined our team for the second time in 2017. Brazilian mastermind, who is renowned for discovering young talents and training them to become professional volleyball players, will coach our team until the end of 2020-2021 season.

Motta knows our club structure very well and he is good at sustaining it. We wish to be working with our experienced and successful coach for long years” said our Team Manager Nalan Ural with regard to tying Motta for two more years.

About Marco Aurelio Motta

The Brazilian coach entered the world of volleyball at the age of 17 and trained countless young players in the course of his long career.

His first major achievement came in 1984, when he won Brazilian championship with Bradesco Club and the second in 1987, when he led the Brazilian National Youth Team to win the World Championship Cup. The Italian National Youth Team, which he coached between 1991 and 1996, became the European Champion two years at a row.

Under his coaching in 2005-2006 and 2006-2007 seasons, Eczacıbaşı VitrA won the Turkey League Championships of both years as well as winning the Top Teams Cup in 2005. In 2011 and 2012, under his coaching again Turkey’s National team won the bronze medal at 2011 European Championship and 2012 FIVB World Grand Prix both, and participated in the Olympic Games in London.

He returned to Eczacıbaşı VitrA in 2017-2018 season to win 2018 CEV Cup. He has won the 2018 Spor Toto Champions Cup in the beginning of this season already.
