Having played the third and the last match of 2020-21 Turkish Leauge semifinals, the team lost the series by a 2-1 win-loss record. The team will play Playoffs 3-4 against Türk Hava Yolları which will decide the league ranking.
Starting the match by a 3-0 winning streak, the team was the leading side throughout the first set. While captain Tijana Boskovic scored 7 points, American middle blocker Chiaka Ogbogu brought in 5 points.
Fenerbahçe Opet came out stronger in the second set as they led by 12-10 before technical timeout and continued their lead until 25-19.
Taking back our control over the match, the Tigers managed to come back stronger with the help of Chiaka Ogbogu’s consecutive block points and won the set by 25-21. Chiaka Ogbogu scored 4 block points in the third set.
In the fourth set, Fenerbahçe Opet came out stronger and managed to take the lead by 25-19. In the fifth set, Fenerbahçe finished the match by a 15-12 win.
The first match of the Playoffs 3-4 against Türk Hava Yolları will take place this Sunday, April 11. It will be a best-of-three series with the winning team securing a spot in next year’s CEV Champions League.
