Our team, which will compete in the CEV Champions League, Vodafone Sultans League, Champions Cup, and Turkish Cup during the 2024-2025 season, concluded the week with an intense training schedule. The workouts included contributions from players Simge Aköz, Naz Aydemir Akyol, Anna Nicoletti, Yaprak Erkek, Sinead Jack-Kısal, and Aybüke Özel, with additional support from our young talents Eylül Durgun, Irmak Nil Akpınar, and Megi Bislimi.
The team continued with double training sessions throughout the week, focusing intensively on passing, defense, and reception of serves. The day’s training began with warm-up exercises led by our conditioning coach and proceeded with controlled net work suitable for jump adaptation.
Head Coach Ferhat Akbaş commented on the training and squad processes, saying, “Our players have been in an extraordinary tempo for years. They need to remember what it’s like to have a normal social life as well. It’s crucial for them to spend time with their families and wake up without an alarm for a while. They deserve to recover from their injuries and come into the new season both mentally and physically prepared. I am trying to help them by giving them the longest possible break. The season is very long, and this way, they can contribute the most to the team. Before a season in which we will compete in four different arenas, we want the players to start the preparation period feeling good.”
