We are very happy that we will be
watching you in Eczacibasi Dynavit jersey for another season. Could you
describe your feelings?
My feelings are very big, I’m very excited and I’m very honored to be in with Eczacibasi Dynavit for another year. I can’t wait to start the season. J
Did you miss us? How did you spend
your summer? What did you do? It was great to follow you on social media.
Of course, I
miss you guys so much. But I also had a lot of free time to focus a little
bit on my studies. I spent my time with my family and my friends, and for sure
to live in my new apartment that I bought last year. We started to live
together with my boyfriend in Belgium. It was really nice to just be at home
and to spent time there. We had a great summer. It was great weather in Belgium
and it was just nice to be home.
Here I
missed the environment because I feel a friendly environment here, an environment
like in a family. This is something that I look forward for coming back to.
While preparing for the new
season, there were many changes in the club. What do you think about the changes
that have been made?
First of all, I liked the gym. It really looks great. I also liked the wall stickers, they look amazing and very professional. The changes of the team, I think we can only make steps forward and become better than we were last year. For sure there is a lot of work to do. I’m very happy we can do it all together.
What do you like to do apart from
training? Do you enjoy travelling and discovering new places in Istanbul?
Of course, but I think it’s very important in our working tempo to rest well enough. I also like doing things at home that are just relaxing and seeing Istanbul. I think now preparations are a little bit easier than the ones during the season. But I also like to stay home, just chill and call my family and friends, watching some series at home and relax.
After winning the CEV Cup, you will appear in the Champions League this year. How do you feel about competing among the best teams in Europe?
Playing Champions League is very tough thing. It is going to be hard but I think we have a lot of work. We have also earned that place to play there. For sure, definitely important for us to play it and to show what our team is capable of. Winning the CEV Cup was amazing. Playing the Champions League is also pretty amazing. I can’t wait for the season to start.
If we go back to last season, is
there a moment or a match that you can't forget?
I’m a type of player who likes to come back stronger as a team after losing. This is something we have done together which is really important for me. Of course, our first final match of the CEV Cup where we played at home and took the advantage, was amazing for me. It was a great atmosphere with a lot of fans, this was really special. In Stuttgart we were wining but playing these games at home was also really nice because we could put a first step on winning the CEV Cup at home in our club with our fans. It was also unforgettable.
We missed watching you play on the
field with ambition. This year, we received a lot of positive comments about
your energy from our fans. What are your goals and expectations for the
upcoming season?
First of
all, thank you about the compliment J It is nice to hear this because this
is something which I care a lot like, giving positive energy on the court, also
to my teammates and also for the team. Generally this is what I stand for. I think
putting energy on the court is one of my strengths and I will keep doing it
because this is who I am J And what are my expectations? I am sure this team is very
professional and very capable of doing great things. So I think it is difficult
to say something for now since we are just four people at the moment. But I
think with a lot of work, with a lot of ambition and concentration on what we
have to do, we will be able to get there and to have the passion together.
There are many new players who
will join the team. Did you meet them? What do you feel?
So for now,
we are four people J It’s just me, Zeynep, Yasemin who is coming back from injury
and Jackie. It’s nice to meet Jackie. She is the first one I met from the new
players. It is great to start again and building up something together. For
sure with time I will meet the new players. I can’t wait to be all together. At
the end, it is nice to start like this but it will even nicer to be all
together. I am looking forward to it.
It has been a long summer period,
are you excited to meet with the team again in October?
Yes, it is still going to take some time to meet everybody and to play all together. I can’t wait, I am very excited that all of us are going to be together. Because at the end it is a team that you have built all together and not only a small part of it. I think there is going to be a good group dynamic in a strong circle by working hard.
Here we see that there is a
well-prepared program for players who open the early season. There is also the
case of camping abroad a few times. How would you evaluate this process?
I think it is very important to start working generally which we did already. For sure some camps, some friendly games are going to help us. There is a good start of the preparations with coaches and staff. I am sure that with time, with travelling, with working hard, with playing friendly games we are going to be ready to start the season.
