The Tigers had a 3-2 defeat over Türk Hava Yolları in the Turkish Cup quarterfinal match and secured a spot in the final four.
Making a good start into the match, Türk Hava Yolları came out stronger after the technical timeout and finished the set by 25-23.
Captain Simge Aköz did some great digs in the second set, helping her team in winning the second set by 25-18. Hande Baladın led her team by 5 points in the second set.
With the help of Tijana Boskovic and Hande Baladın, the team comfortably kept its lead in the third set (25-15). Tijana Boskovic scored 8 points on 6 attacks and 2 aces with 75% efficiency.
Türk Hava Yolları came back stronger and took the fourth set by 25-23 despite all our efforts.
Leading 8-5 before the side switch with Yasemin Güveli’s block, the team didn’t lose control until the end of set. Saliha Şahin’s block finished the tie-break by 16-14.
Tijana Boskovic is the best scorer of the match by 37 points on 32 attacks, 2 aces and 3 blocks. Behind her comes Hande Baladın who did a great job today by scoring 17 points on 16 attacks and 1 block.
The team will face Fenerbahçe Opet in the semifinal match.

Marco Motta: “I think this was the best match that Türk Hava Yolları played against us this season. It wasn’t easy to stop Madi and Ebrar but we gave our best in block and defense. Only in the first and fourth sets our block and defense concentration was lower and we lost those sets because of that. We did few mistakes and managed to bring out a good match.”
