The team emerge victorious in the 23rd match week by a 3-1 defeat over Karayolları in Ankara.
Pushing well in serves, the Orange and Whites started with a 6-1 streak. Leading 12-4 at technical timeout, the team resisted well with Fatma Yıldırım bringing in 5 points. Captain Tijana Boskovic and Hande Baladın scored 4 points each. A collective blocking performance was one of the keys in winning the first set by 25-18. The team scored 4 blocks in this set.
Although Karayolları came out strong in the second set, Tigers started to gain momentum by winning a very thrilling rally as it was standing 7-5. Simge Akoz’s defensive performance was remarkable as the team came back from 7-5 down. Tijana Boskovic who carried the team in the first set scored 5 points in the second set which we won 25-19.
Karayolları kept it strong from the beginning until the end of the third set by 25-22.
In the fourth set, Tigers came back stronger and easily won the set by 25-13.
Today’s best scorer was Tijana Boskovic with 24 points. Yasemin Güveli who played in the third and fourth sets scored as many as 4 stuff blocks.
On our next match, we will play against Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyespor next Monday, Dec. 21.
