Eczacıbaşı VitrA is parting ways by mutual agreement with Büşra Kılıçlı, our long-serving second captain who joined us in 2004.
The Club’s farewell statement to Büşra:
“Büşra has become an important member of Eczacıbaşı Sports Club starting from her early ages. She has clinched countless trophies and achievements with Club. Büşra’s impact to the Club was not only athletic, she also contributed greatly with her friendliness and kind personality. Not to mention her leadership as our second captain in the past two years.
We would like to thank Büşra for all her efforts throughout the years and wish her good luck next season.”
Who is Büşra Kılıçlı?
Büşra Kılıçlı began her volleyball journey at Değirmendere Sports Club and joined Eczacıbaşı Sports Club in 2004. Throughout her career, Büşra had an important share in the Club and the National Team’s greatest achievements.
Having carried the orange and white jersey successfully for 15 years, Büşra Kılıçlı won many national championships in each category such as the Turkish Super Cup, the Turkish Cup and the Turkish League.
Büşra witnessed the 2015 CEV Champions League, the 2015 and 2016 FIVB Club World Championship victories. As a long-serving member of the Club, Büşra has become the second captain in 2017-2018 season. In the past two season, Büşra won the 2018 CEV Cup, the Turkish Super Cup, the 2019 Turkish Cup and a bronze medal in the 2018 FIVB Club World Championship.
Büşra’s contributions are not limited to club level volleyball. As a former member of the Turkish National Team at both professional level and under age categories, Büşra played a key role in the national team’s historical successes such as winning bronze medals in the 2011 CEV European Championship and the 2012 FIVB World Grand Prix. Büşra was a member of the 2012 London Olympics Turkish National Team squad, which was the first ever volleyball team that represented Turkey in the Olympic Games. One year later Büşra won a silver medal in the 2013 Mediterranean Games.
