Thank You Captain!

Legendary captain Jordan Larson, one of the most important figures in women’s voleyball, who has reached great achievements with US National Team and Eczacıbaşı VitrA ,bids farewell to the orange and white jersey that she has carried successfully since the 2014-15 season.

Larson has an imporant share in some of the Club’s greatest achievements such as the back-to-back World championships in 2015 and 2016, 2015 CEV Champions League gold medal, 2018 CEV Cup championship, 2018 Turkish Super Cup and 2019 Turkish Cup (AXA Sigorta Kupa Voley) championships. Jordan Larson carried the orange and white jersey distinctively for 5 years and has been the team captain in the last two seasons.

Addressing that Jordan will always remain as a legend in Eczacıbaşı Sports Club, team manager Nalan Ural added, “According to our captain’s preference to play in a league which lasts a shorter time, we decided to part ways by mutual agreement. We would like to thank Jordan for all her contributions to the Club as an athlete, friend and captain. We would also like to wish her good luck in the coming Olympic Games.”

The Club will also present her a plaque at the farewell dinner, which will take place tonight, to honour her unforgettable contributions in the last five years.

Who is Jordan Larson?

Jordan Larson has been playing for the United States women's national volleyball team since 2009. 

After three seasons with her college team University of Nebraska, Larson played for Russia’s Dinamo Kazan from 2009 to 2014, where she won 2014 CEV Champions League as well as the 2014 Club World Championship.

After joining Eczacıbaşı VitrA Volleyball Team in the 2014-2015 season, Jordan Larson won the 2015 CEV Champions League and FIVB Club World Championship and was awarded the MVP title in both cases. In her second season with the Club, she added the the 2016 FIVB Women’s CWC title to her list, claiming three consecutive victories in this tournament. Larson also won bronze medal in the 2017 CEV Champions League.

She has seen a fair amount of success at international level as well, winning silver medal in the 2012 London Olympics and bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Also she won 2017 FIVB World Grand Champions Cup, where she was awarded as the best spiker. Jordan has won the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Nations League as the captain of Team USA.
