We part ways with our long-serving player Gözde Yılmaz, who has an important share in many Club achievements since 2007, by mutual agreement.
Since the start of her career at Eczacıbaşı Sports Club, opposite player Gözde Yılmaz witnessed many achievements such as winning the national, European and world championships.
The Club’s statement about parting ways with Gözde:
“Gözde has joined us at a young age and witnessed a number of great achievements as an important member of our family. She has always carried her team as a true professional and left behind unforgettable memories as a great companion. We would like to thank her for all her efforts in the past 12 years and wish her good luck next season.”
Who is Gözde Yılmaz?
Gözde Yılmaz has started her volleyball career at TED Ankara College in 2005 and become member of Eczacıbaşı Sports Club in 2007. Throughout her career Gözde played at two other clubs on loan, Yeşilyurt in the 2009-2010 and Sarıyer in the 2013–14 season.
Having carried the orange and white jersey successfully, Gözde won the Turkish League, the Turkish Super Cup twice times and the Turkish Cup three times. Also, Gözde has an important share in some of the greatest achievements in the Club history, such as the European and world championships.
Gözde has served the Turkish National Team both at under age categories and the professional level. In 2014 European League, Gözde was the team captain as the Turkish National team won gold medal. She also played at the Italian powerhouse Unendo Yamamay Busto Arsizio in the 2015-2016 season before she came back home to Eczacıbaşı Sports Club.
In 2015 and 2016, Gözde won the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship. Besides the 2015 CEV Champions League gold medal, Gözde won a bronze in the 2017 CEV Champions League. In 2018, she won the CEV Cup. In the 2018-2019 season, Gözde won the Turkish Super Cup, the Turkish Cup and a bronze medal in the 2018 FIVB Women's Club World Championship.
