The team had a 3-0 defeat over Kuzeyboru in the opening match of the 2020-21 Turkish League’s 29th week.
Making a powerful start into the first set, the team was slowed down a little by the quick attacks of Kuzeyboru. However, with Tijana Boskovic leading the team by 11 points, the team took the first set by 25-22.
The second set began with Saliha Şahin’s ace. Saliha Şahin also did a good job defensively in the second set. By the end of the second set which we won 25-19, we reached to 8 block points as whole team.
In the third set, the team has kept it up from the beginning. Despite all efforts of Kuzeyboru we managed to win the third set by 25-22 and finished Week 29 with three points in our pockets.
Tijana Boskovic is once again the best scorer of the day by 31 points on 26 attacks, 1 ace and 4 blocks.
The mascots of Eczacıbaşı VitrA and Kuzeyboru, Tiger and Malki had fun together before the match with Boskovic sisters joining them.
Next week after the Italy trip for the Champions League quarterfinals 1st match, the team will play their last match of the regular season against Beylikdüzü Voleybol Ihtisas on February 28, Sunday. The match will take place in our home court, Eczacıbaşı Sports Hall.

Marco Motta: “The key point for this win was our serving and blocking today. They did a good job defensively but we managed to stay strong in blocking. We kept our control throughout the whole match.”
Sladjana Mirkovic: “Once again we are going through tough times due to the coronavirus. Although we lack some players, we did a good job today. Now we are fully focused on the Champions League. I hope we will return from Italy with an advantageous result in our pockets.”
