The team has won the second match of the Turkish Cup Pool B in Izmir in straight sets by 25-21, 25-23 and 25-17.
In the first set, libero Simge Aköz made the difference through her defensive performance. Leading 12-9 at the technical time-out and finishing the set by 25-21, the team was led by Jordan Thompson who scored 10 points in the first set.
Despite that Karayolları came out stronger at the beginning of the second set, Hande Baladın’s attacks helped her team in taking control of the game again before the technical time-out (12-11). The team has won the second set by 25-23 with the help of captain Tijana Boskovic who just entered the game in the second set and middle blocker Beyza Arıcı.
The team has won the third set by 25-17, especially showing a good performance in some long rallies.
American opposite player Jordan Thompson has been the best scorer of the team by 18 points. On the other hand, the team scored a total of 9 blocks.
In the last match of Pool B, the Tigers will play against Galatasaray HDI Sigorta at 15.00 tomorrow. The match will be broadcast live on TRT Spor Yıldız.

Ferhat Akbaş: “Today our main focus was to maintain our discipline tactically. We tried to be at the right places rather than the game itself. Also today, we tried a different system with different players and in different orders and I think we were good at it. The team is improving its performance although we need a lot of time. It is always important to decorate such times with victories.”
Merve Atlıer: “Karayolları is a very competitive team. We knew that all sets would end close. The most important thing was to win and we succeeded in that. Tomorrow we will play against Galatasaray. We have just started the season. We want to add on our performance step by step.”
