In the second match of the Turkish League playoffs semifinals, the team has managed to tie the series by a 3-2 win over Fenerbahçe Opet. The third match of series will take place on April 7 and decide which team will qualify for the final round.
Despite that hosting team Fenerbahçe Opet made a better start to the first set, the team has managed to come back with the help of captain Simge Aköz’s defensive efforts. Tijana Boskovic, Hande Baladın and Beyza Arıcı had an important share in the first set, scoring 8, 4 and 4 points, respectively.
The second set went narrow for a long time. Yet Fenerbahçe Opet managed to take the lead after technical timeout and won second set by 25-20.
In the third set, Fenerbahçe Opet came out stronger by 25-19.
Despite that Fenerbahçe were showing a more regular performance in the fourth set, the Tigers managed to achieve a great comeback from 22-18 down to a 25-23 win.
Todat’s tie-break was arguably one of the most thrilling clashes of the season, finishing 19-17 in favor of the Tigers. Through a five-set victory, Tigers managed to tie the series by 1-1.
Today’s best scorer was Tijana Boskovic by 33 points. The team scored a total of 17 blocks.
Game 3 of the semifinals will be played this Wednesday, April 7, at 2 pm in Burhan Felek Vestel Volleyball Hall with Fenerbahçe Opet as the hosting team. There will be live broadacst on TRT Spor 2.
