Young star Tijana Boskovic gave an interview before the first semi final match of Vestel Venus Sultans League playoffs.
Continuing the preparations with the team before the first match of the semi finals against Galatasaray HDI Sigorta, Tijana Boskovic had an interview with the Turkish news agency, İHA Broadcast Services.
“It’s been a good season in the league. We’ve only lost once and we’ll face Galatasaray in the semi-finals. Unfortunately we couldn’t secure a spot in the Champions League semi-finals. We knew this season would not be easy for us. The Turkish Cup was also tough but we’ve gone through it victoriously. Our preparations for the league games continue. We want to finish the season with another trophy. We are fully confident about finishing the season with a result which will make us happy at the end.
Having started her sports career by doing karate, Tijana said, “I did karate when I was a kid. When I realized it was not for me, I changed my mind to play volleyball and continued in that direction. As a player who is 22 years old, I’ve experienced a lot. My journey after this point is even more important. I hope I can achieve more in the future. There is always room for improvement. I want to work hard and gain even better results. I believe there are many years waiting for me at my journey of volleyball.”
Saying that she sees no (dis)advantage of being a left-handed player, successful player Tijana Boskovic adds, “Many people believe that being left-handed is a great advantage against blockers.”
Tijana tells how happy she is about play two more seasons at Eczacıbaşı VitrA: “I’ve extended my contract last season. Except this season, I will play two more years at this club. Next season we will play in various competitions and thrive to display our best performance.”
Adressing that she likes Turkey and Istanbul a lot, Tijana also shares her favorites dishes of Turkish cuisine: “I like Turkey a lot. I’ve been living here for a long time. I’ve got the chance to get to know a lot of nice people. Turkish food is another beautiful aspect. Lentil soup and bulgur are among my favorite dishes”.
