Spiker Meliha İsmailoğlu has been awarded as the ‘Best Sportswoman’ in the 5th edition of the Turkey Youth Awards.
Meliha received her award tonight at the ceremony, which was held in Emek Cinema at Grand Pera.
About
Meliha İsmailoğlu was born in Bosnia Herzegovina in 1993 and started playing volleyball at the age of eight.
Before becoming a Turkish citizen and joining the national team as a striker, she played for clubs in Bosnia Herzegovina, where she was named the “Best Spiker of the Year” in 2009 and 2011. Meliha has won two Turkish League championships, three National Cup Championships, and a bronze in the European Champions League championship. As a member of Turkey’s national team, she won gold medals at the 2014 European League Championship and 2015 European Games Championship and a silver at the 2015 U23 World Championship. In 2018, she has won a silver medal with the Turkish National Team in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League.
