In our rescheduled 19th week match, we had a 3-2 defeat over Sarıyer Belediyespor on home soil and finished our postponed games fixture.
The first set went narrow until the end. Despite that we managed to stop our opponent with the help of Jordan Thompson’s offensive efforts, Sarıyer Bld. took control of the set in the last points (25-23).
Coming out stronger in the second set, the team has tied the match with captain Tijana Boskovic leading her team by 6 points.
In the third set, Beyza Arıcı’s blocks and Tijana Boskovic’s consecutive aces were crucial in stopping our opponent and winning the set by 25-15. Tijana Boskovic ve Beyza Arıcı scored 7 points each.
In the fourth set, guest team Sarıyer took back their control over the game and managed to bring the match to the decider set.
Through a strong comeback at the beginning of the tie-break, the Tigers managed to lead 8-5 before the side switch. With the help of Simge Aköz’s defensive efforts, the team won the tie-break by 15-8.
Today’s best scorer is Tijana Boskovic by 29 points. Also, Beyza Arıcı had an important share in today’s win by scoring a total of 7 stuff blocks.
Finishing our postponed games fixture in today’s match, we will continue our league campaign with the away match against Türk Hava Yolları this Sunday (January 24).
