The third round of the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship, in which Eczacıbaşı VitrA players displayed a remarkable performance, is over.
Having become a semi finalist at the World Championship, our Serbian opposite Tijana Boskovic scored 24 points (21 attacks, 3 blocks) against Japan and 29 points (27 attacks, 2 blocks) against Italy. As all the competitions of the third round came to an end yesterday in Nagoya, Japan, Tijana’s performance in Pool G against Japan and Italy brought her to the fifth place among the best scorers and the first place among the best spikers with %56.39 spike efficiency.
Serbian National Team will play against Netherlands on Oct. 19 in the semi final game.
On the other hand, Team USA members Jordan Larson and Lauren Gibbemeyer will play to win the fifth place after losing 3-2 against China and the Netherlands in Pool H. Our captain Jordan Larson scored 17 points (16 attacks, 1 block) against China, where she aldefense and 11 points (9 attacks, 2 aces) against the Netherlands. Our middle blocker Lauren Gibbemeyer did not play at this round.
