Eczacıbaşı VitrA defeated Vakıfbank 3-1 to win the Spor Toto Champions Cup, the first showdown of the season.
A tough game, as usual, went down in Ankara Başkent Voleyball Arena with several heart pumping rallies to elevate the game, but at the end, Eczacıbaşı VitrA came victorious. Orange and Whites already won the Super Toto Champions Cup formerly known as Champions Cup in 2011 and 2012.
On the field, Vakıfbank led the first set 25-20 whereas Tigers came on strong in the second winning it 22-25. Tijana Boskovic and Captain Jordan Larson were the fuels behind the team in the third and fourth to win it 17-25 and 19-25 consecutively.
Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ presented the Champions Cup trophy to Captain Jordan Larson who was also selected the “Most Valuable Player” of the Cup.
