Having empowered its powerful roster by transferring important volleyball players, Eczacıbaşı VitrA Volleyball Team has opened the 2018-2019 season with a press conference, which was then followed by the seventh edition of the annual event “Volleyball at Kanyon”.
Eczacıbaşı VitrA Volleyball Team has opened the 2018-2019 season with a press conference, which took place in the Kanyon Office. In the press conference, which took place with the attendance of Eczacıbaşı Sports Club President Faruk Eczacıbaşı, Board Members, the full squad and staff, press members have been informed about new members of the team and goals in the upcoming season.
The full roster of Eczacıbaşı VitrA Volleyball Team, of which one of the most important volleyball coaches in the world, Marco Aurelio Motta, is the Head Coach, is made of Jordan Larson, Büşra Kılıçlı, Tijana Boskovic, Güldeniz Önal, Meliha İsmailoğlu, Beyza Arıcı, Simge Şebnem Aköz, Gözde Yılmaz, Ezgi Dilik, Dilara Bağcı and new members, Yeon Koung Kim, Gamze Kılıç and Lauren Gibbemeyer, and Merve Atlıer, who has advanced from Eczacıbaşı Academy to the Senior Team only this season.
Eczacıbaşı Sports Club President Faruk Eczacıbaşı, who opened the press conference with a speech about the IOC Women and Sport World Trophy that the Club has received in the past weeks, “In the 52 year old history of our Club, our women’s volleyball teams have won 74 championships in total, of which 52 has won by the Senior Team and 22 by the under age groups. However, the main motivation behind our reception of this award was not the athletic success of our team; but the investments and support that we have made for volleyball and women. We have always believed in our girls and supported them. And they have showed us and the whole world what the Turkish women can achieve when they have enough opportunities.
Faruk Eczacıbaşı also mentioned his thoughts about the upcoming season, “Starting the season once again with the aim of both national and international achievements, our prior goal is to win the Spor Toto Champions Cup. After this Cup, we aim to win the Turkish league, the Club World Championship and the Champions League. To achieve all these championships, we start the season with a squad that is strongly determined and committed to each other. I believe that we will all enjoy a season which will offer us many exciting and competitive matches.
